Dashboard filters and display options

This article describes how to configure Dashboard-wide settings and features available in the platform.

If you aren't familiar with creating or editing a new Dashboard, we recommend you read Creating a Dashboard first.

Pre-applied Dashboard Filters

You can add a metric-specific filter and a filter to the Dashboard that can apply to multiple metrics. For example, if you were creating a Dashboard focused on a particular area of the business, you could add a filter to show only the metric numbers for that business area.

Once you've created a new Dashboard or selected one to edit, you can apply these filters at the top of the screen by expanding Pre-applied Dashboard Filters and selecting the relevant values.

We recommend that if the whole dashboard is focused on a specific attribute (e.g., area of the business or device type), the pre-applied filters be used instead of adding the filter to each of the metrics. 

Dynamic Dashboard Filters

You can add filter types to your Dashboard to allow users to dynamically filter the Dashboard when viewing areas of interest. For example, you can add a filter for "Device Type, " enabling Dashboard viewers to filter to a Device Type of interest, which will dynamically update all metrics in the Dashboard when that filter is selected.

You can apply these filters at the top of the screen by expanding Dynamic Dashboard Filters and selecting the relevant values.

Expandable rows and show RAG filters

You can apply these features at the top of the screen in the Expandable Rows section

• Expandable rows: This option allows you to expand or collapse the sections of the Dashboard, making it easier to navigate or get an overview.
• RAG filters: The "Expandable rows" option must be selected to use the RAG filter feature. This option shows RAG filters alongside the expandable rows to provide a quick overview.
