Cyber Advisor FAQ

We know that using AI in security can raise questions, especially around data privacy. This page answers the most common questions so you can feel confident using Cyber Advisor in the Panaseer platform.

Do I need to enable the solution?

No, you don’t need to enable the Cyber Advisor, but you do need to give users permission to use it. Please see the next section for more details on user permissions.

The Cyber Advisor will be enabled on your environment two weeks after you receive an announcement email. If you prefer not to have it enabled, you can opt out by contacting your Customer Success Manager. In this case, the Cyber Advisor won’t be available to any users in your environment.

Can I control who can use the solution?

Yes, you stay in full control of access. By default, users can’t use the Cyber Advisor until an admin assigns them the feature permission: AI Features → Cyber Advisor -> Create.

Access works on two levels: the Cyber Advisor permission controls who can use it, and your existing data-level access permissions control what data each user’s responses can draw on. A user never sees data they don’t already have permission to view.

Does the solution use Generative AI (GenAI)?

Yes, the Cyber Advisor uses LLMs that are fully provided by Panaseer's existing data sub-processor partners. These AI models run inside of the security and governance perimeter defined in the existing data security policies, keeping your data protected and securely in place.

Does the solution use my data to train models?

No. Panaseer never shares your data for third-party AI model training. Furthermore, the Cyber Advisor features use privately hosted LLMs “as-is”, so it does not train on your data.

Does the solution combine my data with data from any other customers (including in aggregate formats)?

No. At no point during setup or use of the Cyber Advisor is your data combined with data from other customers. Each customer’s solution work only with their own data.

Does the solution share my data with any new third parties?

No. This solution maintains data in its existing location under existing controls. No new third parties are introduced.

Which foundational models does the solution use?

The Cyber Advisor uses recent Claude foundational models.

As with all our AI solutions built using foundational models, we may upgrade to a newer model at a later date. We will only make such changes if they ensure that we continue to meet the commitments we’ve made to you, as outlined on this page.

What data does the solution use?

The Cyber Advisor returns results based on your security metrics data in Panaseer. This includes metric values, values for specific dimensions, example records and dashboard occurrences for the metric. The Cyber Advisor relies on user permissions when retrieving data, so a user cannot see data they don’t have permission to view.
